Citroen
Up here in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the Citroen was either not popular, or they didn't sell many. You'd see the small car with the roll down sardine-like canvas roof (Citroen 2V), or the "fancy" larger Citroen DS with the pneumatic shock absorbers that could raise or lower the car. However, Citroen was a big ands successful car manufacturer in Europe in the 1920's and later.
What's interesting about today's post is that Citroen the car manufacturer also made these beautiful car toys at the same time. As you can see from these toys, Citroen at the time made many different models of cars.
(Please press on the above address to be redirected to the fine website of Bertoia Auctions)
Many of the Citroen toy cars have electric (battery) headlights, doors that open and close, and nickel-plated front grills. When I have the time, I'll Photoshop more of these beautiful Bertoia images, and upload them.
In the meantime, if you go to the address below, you will arrive at the Bertoia's search page for all of their past auctions. If you then enter "Citroen", you will be able to see all of the Citroens that they have sold over the years.
Thanks for Dropping by,
and have a great morning, afternoon, or evening,
wherever you may be.
