Antique Toy Cars
Purchased and Sold
(January 2011 - June 2011)
I thought that for today, I'd present the cars that I have bought and sold for the first half of last year.
American and the world have always been infatuated with cars, and so the toy companies reproduced toys after some of the famous life-sized cars that were manufactured in those days.
The early toy cars were manufactured by the cast iron process, followed later by die cast and pressed steel. There were also the rubber toys and lead toys, but those I will present in the next instalment. The reason for that presentation is that I had decided in the second half of last year to expand the toys that I bought and sold. Initially I limited my acquisitions to just a few manufacturers in order to learn about them. Those included Hubley, Wyandotte, Tootsietoy, Manoil, and occasionally Arcade and A.C.Williams. Later I expanded into the Sun Rubber, Jane Francis, Auburn and Arcor Rubber, and a few other manufacturers.
So here are today's presentations from January -June 2011
I'll try to find information to title the cars later on in the day or tomorrow.
