VINTAGE 1920'S KANSAS Slush TOY KTV23

SEPARATOR-THRESHER C6

or
A Toy so Ugly, Only a Mother Could Love

I purchased this toy a few weeks ago.  It's called a thresher and was used to harvest wheat. It's one of the machines that help make America "the breadbasket of the world" back  a long time ago.  It's a slush toy made of an alloy that's poured into a casting. The molten metal is swirled around or "slushed" inside the casting and begins to stick to the casting. The excess is poured out through a hole.

Sometimes, I'll purchase toys that I know may be hard to sell, and this may be in fact one of them.
I  joked about his toy being "ugly", but it's actually beautiful. For such a small toy, it has plenty of detail. It's lost all of its red colour, but still is in very good condition.

Because it's something that I haven't seen on E-Bay, I decided to buy it.

   Dimensions:

   3" (L) x  1 1/4" (W) x  1 1/2" (H)
  77mm  x     32mm     x   39mm

   Weight:

3 ounces or 85 grams

It's truly amazing how such a fragile toy could last for so long (1930's)
and not be damaged, except for the loss of paint.
Truly, this toy did in fact receive a lot of love and care for it!

So that's it for Sunday - short and sweet.
Have a nice restful day, and thanks for dropping by.
