An Arcade Cast Iron Coupe
with Baggage Box in Back
Circa 1930's
I purchase this item a few weeks ago, and finally have returned to writing with a passion! I'm not sure who made this item hence the "?". It could be an Arcade or Hubley. Nevertheless, its' a beautiful-looking you.
Dimensions: 4 7/16" (L) x 1 3/4" (W) x 1 1/2" (H)
114mm x 71mm x 38mm
Weight: 6.7 ounces or 190 grams
Materials: Cast Iron body with Nickel-Plated Grill
The car is a nice example of a 1930's coupe with a baggage box on the back of the car. For those who don't know, the car could be disassembled by removing the axles and rubber tires. This would then allow the top and bottom parts to separate from each other. The nickel-plated grill could then come apart as well.
I've added new rubber tires to the car.
Perhaps one of you can help in the identification of this toy.
It's marked Pat. Pend on the underside running board on one side,
and the numbers 2127, and underneath that 5.
On the inside roof part is the number 212.
It's already June 1, and I hope everyone will have a great weekend to start enjoying the pre-summer weather.
And as alway, thanks for dropping by to have a look.
