Can Anyone Authenticate that this Paya Toy is an Original

A Reader wants to know if her
Paya Toy is Authentic

This week, I received an interesting e-mail earlier. The reader,
Jodi Ascherman wanted to know if I could authenticate her beautiful Paya car with a driver, as  real original toy made by Paya. I don't know much about Paya toys, so I can't answer her questions. I did a search for "Are Paya Toys Still Made", and came up with several results.

When I had opened my e-mail earlier in the week, I was pleasantly surprised to see so many photographs of Jody's toy, with large-sized files.

Wow!

These photos were very large, and were excellent to work with.
Of course, I had to resize them in order for reader to view them instantly,
when they were added to Jody's post.

One great toy reference site wrote that the toys are still being made in Spain.
Fabtintoys wrote a brief article about the toys are still being made.

I also found one site that wrote that Paya toy reproductions are being made by
a company not related to the Paya. The company might be able to make
toys looking like Paya toys, because perhaps the patents ran out of time.

Normally, I don't add lots of photos, but these photos
would be excellent for viewers who might want to answer Jodi's question,
as to the authenticity of this beautiful toy.

I hope that one of my readers will be able to help out
and tell everyone what this toy is.

1. Is this an  original Paya toy from a long time ago?

2. Is it a new-generation authentic Paya toy made by the relatives of
the original Paya toy company?

3. Is this a Paya "reproduction" made after the original
Paya patent expired?

I hope someone can help Jodi Ascherman with an answer to her question.

And one final question:

I just tried to find the Paya website in Spain in
order to contact them. However, I couldn't find the company.

So if someone is reading this post, could you please e-mail me,
so that I could tell Jody to contact them.

I'll also write to them if I get their website and address.

As always ,thanks for stopping by to visit my post.

A New Discovery from a
Fine ebay Company

I was searching for toys on ebay, when I found a company by the name of
Marcapatito. The first thing that attracted my attention was the excellent photography. What also was interesting was the fact that he took plenty of photos to present the toys.

I saw one toy that caught my attention. It was a wind-up toy manufactured by
a company by the name of Cragstan from the USA. The company imported
wind-up toys from different Japanese companies in the 1950's-1960's.

Joel Siegel's Popeye Toys

Among the many toys that are up for auction, there are several interesting Popeye toys from the 1930's - 1940's. I've already written a previous post about the Late Joel Siegel. You might want to visit this post that is the one before this one. Mr. Siegel was an exceptional man whom you might have seem on Good Morning America on ABC years ago.

Popeye the Sailor Man is a fictional cartoon character created by Elzie Crisler Segar. The character first appeared in the daily King Features comic strip Thimble Theatre on January 17, 1929, and Popeye became the strip's title in later years. The character has also appeared in theatrical and television animated cartoons.

The Kidd Family Auction Company
I was searching for "wind-up tin toys" on Liveauctioneers, when I came across some nice-looking toys. As it turned out, the toys were from a Canadian auction company right next to Quebec, where I live. The Kidd  Family Auctions company happens to be in Ontario. Needless to say, I wrote to them, and obtained permission to share their photos with you.
Their toy auction is coming up on June 19, 2020.

The Kidd family lives in Shelburne, Ontario, while I live in Montreal, Quebec.
It's about  a 6 1/2 hour drive from Montreal.

Our Story

In early 2015 Dennis formed Kidd Family Auctions. The staff team consists of three generations of Kidds and hand-picked, capable staff members. This is a photo of the original staff in 1995. The current team has tripled in size but the down home feel has never changed.

Because you never know what you may find - ANYWHERE!
