A Reader Asks About A Gong Bell Cart

I received an interesting e-mail from a reader this week. It was an inquiry about a 

Gong Bell Pull Cart. I couldn't help the reader who has a very interesting moniker (nickname) "RadioReporter".

The reader  sent me some nice photos of a Gong Bell Garden Cart # 260. I did some searching, but couldn't find any information on the nice cart from the 1950's.  I hadn't realized that Gong Bell had made such large-sized toys, and so "now I know".

He's placed a long steel ruler in the photos, so that should tell you 

the approximate size of this fine discovery.

I can't believe how this toy from the 1950's (70++ years) has

kept its' beautiful colours (colors in American spelling) for so long.

Sometimes you have great luck with finding something, 

and RadioReporter most certainly found a great discovery!

Excellent ebay Seller

If you are a regular visitor to my website, you'll know that recently, I've been

visiting people and companies and seeing how they're doing. The way I've done this is by looking at old posts, and selecting from there. I've been blogging for more that 14 years , and wow, how the time flies!

When I revisited Mr. Hardy Littleton, the owner of stripe4107,

he had a great selection of Meccano toys for sale.

But the one toy that caught my attention was a French Meccano toy racer.

You don't see this particular toy very often, so it was nice to see this racer.

The description was as follows:

1930's French Meccano Red Boat Tail Race Car Model Kit 14"

A Special 1915 Tootsietoy 

Model T Ford Comes to Life

I woke up early today, and decided to check my e-mail.  Mr. Robert Newson

had written to me a few days ago. He mentioned a special Tootsietoy that was produced.

I had not checked my g-mail in days, and so it was a surprise to find an

e-mail from Robert. I've written a few posts about Robert and his exceptional

website, but this news was most interesting.

Robert Newson has this exceptional website.

He also has a friend by the name of  Mr. Clint Seeley who writes articles,

and Robert proofreads .

The e-mail was about was a 1915 Tootsietoys's 

Model T Ford (silver plated no less!), and

it was:

"the world's first diecast toy car in the popular three-inch size.

The rare plated version was the first version of that model, 

and has not been properly described in collectors' literature till now"

So as they say in the movie industry - "that's a wrap".

What that means in the movie industry is 

"the filming of a movie scene was finished.".
