b2bReplicas Diecast Models

This week, I've been sending out letters to diecast model makers asking for a complimentary model. The reason for this "ambitious" task was to be able to have a real up-close model to photograph. I haven't had any luck, but for b2bReplicas. Tracie Kendall from b2bReplicas didn't send me a model, but she did the next best thing. She sent me 2 high-quality photos to add to this post.

b2bReplicas is a highly successful company who sells many different types of diecast models from many different manufacturers. This company is the wholesaler to model stores across the USA and Canada.   Their retail website is 3000toys.com

Diecast models are manufactured from special metal alloys that do not react with other or the air. The models can last for a very long time when made with these metal alloys. Special diecast molds are made for the molten metal alloys to be streamed into. Once cooled, the unfinished models are removed from the molds.

Caution:  Diecast models are not toys. All manufacturers always warn collectors
not to let small children play with these models. The pieces are very small, and are dangerous to young children who might break the toy and swallow small pieces!

When you view this post, click on any image. What happens is that all the photos in the post will appear at the bottom of the page as small icons. When you now click on the icon, the images will appear very large, compared with just looking at the blog post.

I selected the model below because there is lots of detail to be seen. This illustrates how far model manufacturers have come in the 21st century! The model is a Caterpillar D10T2 track-type tractor dozer, manufactured by Diecast Masters. The scale is 1:50, meaning that the real size of the model is 50 times larger than the model, or the model is 1/50 the size of the real machine. Of course, the real Caterpillar machine will cost you at least $ 1,000,000.00 in U.S. Dollars. This machine is a very heavy-duty dozer made to undertake very tough jobs.

As you can see, the detail in the photos below is outstanding. Small details have been incorporated into the model as the true machine.

Size:
L x W x H
7 5/8" x 4 1/8" x 3 1/2"
194 mm x 105 mm x 90 mm

The image below is an actual photo of the real machine.
All the other photos on this post are model photos! If you compare the above model photo to the real photo below, you can easily see how much detail has been incorporated into the model!

I found a video on YouTube that reviews this model from Diecast Masters.

Here's the link:

Models are highly collectible because these are the machines that are used around the world  in the construction industry. They are endurable and have built dams, been used in the mining industry, and have created many highways and autoroutes universally.

You may not have $ 1,000,000.00 dollars to buy the real machine, but for $ 116.00 you most certainly can afford its' cousin - the 1/50 scale model!

Thanks for dropping by.
and have a great day or evening.
