This blog discusses old toys from the early 1920's to the end of the 1950's. All kinds of topics are discussed. The time span was the greatest period for "hands-on" toys, where a young child could actually go outside and play for hours at a time. You can see the elegance but simple design of these toys. It was a time when huge machines, and people made and finished toys by hand. The era has long passed, but many of the toys are still around, and that is what I would like to share.

A Question About the Authenticity of a Label

Earlier in the week, I received an interesting letter from Mr. Steve Insler. He has a very nice ,small-sized Arcade, cast iron 1930's 2-door sedan. However, he wasn't interested in the toy car, as much as his having wanted to know if the label on the roof-top was authentic. The label is from the 1934 Chicago World's Fair. The theme title of the fair was "Hall of Science".

I don't know anything at all about collectible labels or decals. So, if there is someone out there on the Net, who knows anything about the 1934 Chicago World's Fair, and perhaps even has a souvenir inherited from his parents or grandparents, would you be so kind as to write to me. Please send some photos as well.
