Moo!
I would have though that more bovine (cow and bull) toys would have been created over the years.
However, I am wrong. I did start with Liveauctioneers and from there selected one auctioneer for today. With the way America expanded and developed what was once total Native American land, I thought the huge ranches of Texas, and the great trail herds of cattle across the Midwest USA would have most certainly have led for a desire for cow toys. If you've ever seen an American Western, you'd have seen at least one cattle stampede or giant ranch. Even Clint Eastwood started as a cattle hand on TV by the name of Rowdie Yates on the program Rawhide from 1959-1965.
As you can see, most of the toys are what are called pull toys. A cord is attached to either a hold or holed screw, and then the toy is pulled behind a child. Some of the toys are more ornamental in nature, and might haven appeared on Christmas trees at Yuletide.
However, if you were to do a search for "barbed wire" on Liveauctioneers, or anywhere on the Net, you'd find lots and lots of entries. Barbed wire had many different designs to keep the cows inside their range.
Go figure - Moo!
Thanks for dropping by to visit,
and as always,
have a great part of the day,
wherever you may be,
Stacey
