I've written many posts about Emerald City Toys. It's always a pleasure 

to visit this fine toy site when looking to write a blog post. The photography is superb, the descriptions are nicely-written , and their toys are are

always interesting and refreshing.

Description:

"Kingsbury introduced this 14" (35.56 cm) long Panama dump truck in 1923.

 The truck is complete and original withgray paint with gold highlights. The clockwork motor works well, and the original white rubber tires are complete. The bottom dump mechanism works well."

Description:

"Arcade produced this great Chevrolet coupe in the 1930's. 

This toy is 8" (20.32 cm), and is original and complete. The Chevy coupe

is perhaps one of Arcade's most striking vehicles, well proportioned and

a beautiful casting. This example has no cracks or repairs, and would compliment any collection".

Description

 



Arcade made several versions of their cast iron ice truck in the 1930's. This example has excellent original medium blue paint with gold trim. The white rubber tires are original, and are in great condition, with some hub wear.The casting is perfect with no cracks or breaks. Two original glass ice cubes and metal ice tongs are included. Length 7" (17.8 cm)

 

Description:

Offered here is a great 1930's Hubley Terraplane roadster. The toy is 6" (15.24 cm) long and is original and complete. The red paint has some wear ,but shows very well. This version has the nickel-plated grill and chassis.

The white tires are age hardened and cracked, but are original and complete.

It's been a long time since I wrote  a post for Emerald City Toys.so I was happy when I visited the website and found lots of nice toys. I didn't want to present too many toys, so I selected 2 fine toys.

What is very nice on a toy merchant is when the photography is excellent, and there are many images to show the potential buyer the condition of the toy is, as well as what the features are.

There were plenty of nice toys to show, but I selected 2 nice toys.

Toy # 1 Description

"This great 12" (30.48 cm) lithographed tin clockwork Cadillac was made

by Mars in 1932. The toy is in spectacular original condition, and is complete in every way. The colors are bright and shiny, and the clockwork motor

functions properly. This toy is seldom found in this condition.

Toy # 2 Description

"Marx made this huge 16" (40.64 cm) Stutz lithographed tin roadster

in 1928. It has a strong clockwork motor, and is complete and original.

The lithography is bright, and the colors are stunning. It is in excellent

condition with no damage or oxidation. A seldom seen toy in this condition

So that's it for today. Two old toys in very good condition and soon to be centenarians ( 100 years old). It's truly amazing how certain collectibles 

are kept from generation to generation over time.  It's great to see that some collectibles will always be around for the next generation(s) to  see

what children played with before them.

I like the Emerald City Toys © a lot.

It's excellently designed, great photography, and  has well-written 

descriptions of their toys.

There should be some kind of Internet Group that selects the best 

websites in different categories.

Anyway, I was writing a recent Emerald City Toys Blog, when my eye

caught a series of other toys; beautiful A.C.Williams cast iron racers from the 1930's. 

As soon as I saw those beautiful cars, I know that I'd have to  add another post for Emerald City Toys. They were A.C.Williams race cars.

I knew I had an A.C.Williams catalogue from that time (probably a reproduction) ,

but as luck would have it, I just couldn't find it. I might have sold

it about 10 years ago, when I was cleaning up my office! 

UGH!

But wait!

I had a plan B!

I knew I wrote about the catalogue and some cars a while back, 

so I decided that I'd search on my Blogger website. I've only written

1576 posts to date, and then I got "cold feet".

Have you ever tried to search 1,576 posts to 

find a screen-capture of a 1930's catalogue? 

Plan B was to think what the name of the post was,

and then do a search and see what comes up.

Fortunately Plan B worked out, and I was fortunate that that post was

written in 2013, and I found it!

P.S. I'm still looking for that 1930's catalogue!

Give a dog a bone, and he'll never let it go! 

(I'm very stubborn when I have to do something or find something!)

A Revisit to Emerald City Toys

A while back, I wrote that I'd be returning to past people and companies to write about them again. And so for today, I'm writing about Emerald City Toys. I'm a few months early for St. Patrick's Day, but I was "itching" to return to writing and blocking. I checked back in my archives, and I first wrote about this fine company back on April 24, 2013. 

So for this post, I decided to contact (Mr.) Brooke Larrson to see how he was doing, and mention to him that I would be writing a new post for him.

Brooke's website has changed. There are lots of toys for sale, and the photography and descriptions are excellent. It's a great place not only for buying toys, but also for researching for information about toys.

The weather up here in Montreal,Quebec, Canada has been warmer for December, and it's only snowed heavily twice in 2 months. It's been raining and snowing, so one never knows how to dress!

As for the rest of the world, this winter season has been hard! Heavy rains, and 

below -40° F to -50° C in the Northern Climates of North America.

In some places, there was lots of rain and even  lava flows (Iceland).
