Same Item - Different Sizes

 How many times have you been excited about a toy on E-Bay? So you bid like crazy because you have to have that toy! You send your payment, wait a week, and then receive a box about the size of a portable hard drive. You don't know what's in the box, because you've purchased 10 other items on E-Bay.  You open the box, and lo and behold, there it is, you're trophy - all 4 inches of it! 


     So now you're a bit let down, and you go back to the E-Bay listing to read the description and examine the photo. There could be a penny (for reference), or a tape measure, or a written description mentioning the size. However, sometimes there just isn;t anything!


    So what will you do? If you're like me, you'll say "well that's a good lesson, and I'll be more alert next time!" However, the next time comes, and you do the same thing! So, now you've learned your lesson.


    So here are some images just to illustrate the relative different sizes of a particular category of toy - the car.

The above 2 images are of a small Hubley racer.

It measures 4.4" (L) x 1.75" (w) x .75" (H)

Without any reference, you can't really tell just how large or  small this toy is. Now look below and see the different sizes of 6 toy cars, most of which are Hubleys.

So now you know the relative size of the small car, but how small is small? There is nothing in the photo to judge the size. For all you know, the smallest car might be 10" long.

Of course, Most of you are familiar with the above items, but I have only been buying and selling for about 4 months no, so I am still unfamiliar with all those Hubley cars.

The item that I chose to place as a reference is a Canadian penny (about the same size as a US penny).
