A Return Visit to an
Exceptional Toy Restorer

Chip Channel Restorations

It's been a long time since I discovered this fantastic website on YouTube. The talented toy restorer prefers to be called "Chip", and when you visit his website on YouTube, you'll see his expertise and skills at work on many different toys.

The beginning of the process of restoration is to dismantle (take apart) all
of the pieces of the toy that is going to be restored. Different parts such as rubber tires
and rusted metal, require different procedures of restoration.

This toy is a Tonka Utility Dump

In the photo below, a drill is required to remove a screw.
Below, there are other photos shopping how the different
parts of the toy are removed.

Below, a photo shows all of the different pieces that were disassembled.

The rubber tires shown below will need a good scrubbing
with a soft plastic  bristled brush. Water will be used t
o help remove the dirt.

The disassembled metal parts below will require sanding with a fine-grain
sandpaper,or special soft buffers that are able to remove the rust.

Once all of the parts have been restored properly, with rust removed, and rubber tires made to look new, Chip selects powdered paint to match the original colours of the toy.

After much time and hard work, the parts are reassembled.
Chip has even found decals that go on to the sides of the
"Tonka Utility Dump".

Finally, all of the work such as dismantling, scrubbing, sanding, painting
drying, and reassembling have all finished.

"Et Voila" ( French for here it is",
a toy that needed lots of work top restore it, has finally
been finished.

I've only presented photos, but when you go to visit Chip on Youtube,
you will see the extensive work and effort that have gone into the restoration.

Below is a photo of some of the toys that have been restored.
Chip's work effort and excellent skills most-certainly show well.

So that's it for today.

As always, thanks for dropping by to visit,
and have a great part of the day or night, wherever you may be.
