(Blog # 2 of the Day)
An Auctioneer Specialist for Bicycles +
In their Own Words.....
Welcome to the Copake Auction Antique and Classic Bicycle Website. Within these web pages you will find hundreds of bicycles, posters, photographs, ephemera, catalogs, parts, toys, and much more. We have catalogs available, post sale articles and videos as well links to Museums, Clubs & Events to further explore and enjoy this wonderfully historic hobby.
We've come a long way since our first bicycle auction back in 1991. We have never forgotten that it is you THE COLLECTOR that drives the market. We have enjoyed bringing you some of the rarest and most desirable bicycles and related items over these many years. Michael Fallon's passion for bicycles has propelled the Copake Auction to being one of the most popular and well respected antique bicycle auctions in the world.
In addition to the auction itself we also host the pre-sale SWAP MEET right on the property in our spacious country fields. The swap meet has a sort of "Fair" quality to it and is a priority pit stop for all bicycle enthusiasts. We see people return year after year from every corner of the world for a day of shared admiration, deal hunting and riding stories, and of course Shopping and Trading! These two days are more than just about selling, we try to make it a fun and informative event with food, special presentations and movies and this year we will be enjoying a special 10 mile ride to commemorate our 20th annual and enjoy beautiful Columbia County New York on our bicycles! - See more at: http://www.copakeauction.com/bicycles/pages/home.html#sthash.j4Tqavij.dpuf

About 5 weeks ago, I was on the Liveauctioneers website , when some fantastic old bicycles caught my attention. I checked out the bicycles and then the website of Copake Auctions Inc. Wow! Copake Auctions Inc. is a specialist of bicycles, and all bicycle-related items. They also auction other items, but, as I mentioned favour bicycles. It's an treasure trove of great items and great photography. Naturally, I wrote, and got a reply. However, like most everyone, replying to a request from a blogger is not on everyone's priority list. I had to be patient, so today, when I noticed that an auction was going on, I wrote again. I got the permission from Mr. Seth Fallon, and so for today, this is the introduction to the company.
I was attracted to a wonderful antique bicycle below. Furthermore, the Copake Auction Inc. photographers had taken some excellent photographs. I decided to place the photographs against my "usual" white, and that's what I have to present to everyone for today. TO change topics for a second, I'm getting much better at placing bicycles against white. With all of the spokes that criss-cross,there are a lot of spaces that need whitening. The first set of 4 photos could be improved, but the rest are very good. What's most important though is high beautiful the bicycle presents itself, and the excellent sharply-focused images that the Copake photographer s took.
The fine items for sale are from the Pedaling History Bicycling Museum Collection and are being auctioned at the last of three sessions. The auction will take place on October 19, 2013. As with many auctioneers in the 21st century, people can bid on-line. For further details,
you can go either to Copake Auctions Inc. or to Liveauctioneers.com .
And by the way, you can visit the Museum online at:
And one last note. For those who don't know - I cycle.
Thanks for dropping by to visit,
and as always,
have a great part of the day or night,
wherever you may be.
