A Great Midwest Etsy Store
Today's post is quite interesting, especially for someone like me who likes to write. Yesterday, I came across a toy company by the name of Amar from India. They made (maybe they're still in business) a series of 1950's friction cars. Now almost everyone on the Net writes that these toys were made in the 1950's or are "Vintage 1950's toy cars". Ok, I can deal with that. But hold your horses (an old west expression for wait)! I find a website that says that this ain't true. These toys were made in the 1980's. I search and search, but only find 2 sellers who say this, and one of these are today's owners of this mighty fine store (OK, I won't talk American Western anymore!).
It turns out that TheWildBurro happens to be on Etsy and is owned by Regina Pilotte and Lori Morris in Lafayette, Indiana. I just love all the names - The WildBurro,The last name of Regina, and Lafayette Indiana. There's a short story in here somewhere!
I wrote to the store, and got a reply from Lori Morris to say - sure go ahead. Their store is temporarily closed as they suffered damage to their store from tornadoes. And to think, Lori could take the time to write to me!

About
We were pickers long before picking was cool. As kids we sold our toys to our siblings and we rummaged through what others considered trash when we went to the dump with our Dads. We found really cool stuff, saved it from the landfill.....and sometimes made it into something even better. We understand that this is now called upcycling. :-) We believe that the finest form of living green is buying vintage and working with existing materials.
We've been lucky enough to come together in this venture.... and our interests and curiosities play well together. We do our best to offer an exceptional variety of quality vintage and upcycled goods and work hard to earn trust and confidence from our customers.

When Regina and Lori's Etsy store is up and running, which I'm sure it will be soon, I will return and write about them. And I promise not to talk or write in a Western American drawl (accent)!
