The French PEP Toy Company

The French PEP Toy Company

It's truly unbelievable that I have been able to continue writing, and continue to be surprised with new material. I can't recall how I found the PEP toy company, but there it was. And when I did a search on Liveauctioneers, I found Bertoia Auctions, and as the expression goes - "the rest is history". I then went to the Bertoia Auctions website and found a beautiful collection of these outstanding toys.

The  PEP toy company was established in the early 1920's and continued to fluorish up to the early 1960's in France. They made other types of toys, but I'm only presenting this  fine collection of 1920's toy cars today. It would be interesting to research how much these toys cost way back when, but at auction, the certainly received high bidding.

It's to bad one can't see more different camera angles such as the undercarriage, or the gear mechanism, but those photos are not usually of importance to auction viewers. These PEP toys are beautifully detailed, and the colour patterns, the hand-detailed painting in some cases, the battery-operated lights, the brass-toned exterior horns, and the nickel-plated grills, all add up to illustrate the fine beauty of these old toys.

I was only going to present 5 of these toys, since there are multiple photos of each car. However, a low voice in my head kept saying "please don't leave me out", so I kept on downloading another, and another image. I'm glad I did that, because you have to see the whole set (and there were still more) to truly appreciate the PEP company.

I hope that you all enjoy these toys as much as I did. They truly are treausures from a long time ago, and it's now to be able to have Bertoia Auctions share them with me and you.

Thank you for visiting my blog,
and have a pleasant day whererver you may be.
